What is Kinesiology (pronounced Kin-easy-ology)
Kinesiology is a complementary medicine using gentle muscle monitoring to access information about a person's state of well being and how to improve imbalances.

How does Kinesiology work? To keep you healthy your body has many in-built healing mechanisms. However, sometimes you are submitted to so many different forms of “stress” (learning new things, computer work, food additives, chemicals, viruses, injuries, diseases, emotional stress etc) that these special healing mechanisms get overloaded and break down. This gets you “stuck” in your fight / flight response. Being stuck in fight or flight results in physical and emotional exhaustion, leading to imbalances such as allergies, illness, aches/pains, learning difficulties, anxiety, concentration problems, memory loss etc. Your nervous system, which controls muscle function, is affected by this. Kinesiology uses gentle muscle monitoring as a guide to find out whether a situation, activity, memory or food is causing stress or an imbalance in your body, and what other factors may be contributing to the problem. Once the imbalances are found, various techniques are used to restore body & brain function, thereby help activate your body's own self regulating healing and recuperation mechanism. Treatment options are specific to your needs and could be any of the following:
Acupressure Kinesiology is effective, gentle and non-invasive and can be used by any age group – from babies to the elderly. Kinesiology on its own, or combined with Bowen and Craniosacral therapy, provides a significant step forward in modern health care. Removing imbalances and activating the healing mechanism of your body will help you get out of overwhelm and this “stuck” state, hence aid clearer thinking and reduce pain. Therefore you can operate better, faster and have less need to compensate.
