Training - General Overview

      AKA Practitioner Training

No pre-requisite required.  The completion of this training allows you to obtain insurance cover and Level 1 Practitioner registration with the Australian Kinesiology Association (AKA), the governing body of Kinesiology within Australia.  It enables you to start practicing, set up your clinic and build your client base while enhancing your skills with further, more in-depth study such as the Certificate IV or Diploma.  (Diploma level is required by most private health funds to obtain a provider number, which allows your clients to obtain rebates from their fund).

To obtain AKA Registered Practitioner status requires no pre-requisites and includes the following training components:

Kinesiology training - KAAP, TFH, DK
Common Training - 50 hours A+P; Senior First Aid

KINESIOLOGY TRAINING

This training relates to the practical and theoretical components specific to your kinesiology knowledge.  To allow the best possible learning outcome these units are delivered in short, intensive face-to-face training units and require workbooks consisting of assignments and case studies to be completed in the comfort of your own home, at your own pace after attending the face-to-face hours.  

Students are being continually assessed for theoretical and practical competency.

COMMON TRAINING

These units are 'common' to many complementary modalities (such as massage, naturopathy etc) and provide you with basic theoretical and practical underpinning common knowledge required by the AKA to start your clinic. Please contact Smart Bowen for details.
