What is Kinesiology?
Kinesiology’s unique approach is what sets it apart from other complementary health disciplines. Kinesiology allows every treatment to be tailor made directly to you and your body’s needs through the use of gentle muscle monitoring!
Muscle monitoring helps to take out the guess work and provides information about your state of well being and how to best improve any imbalances. It is effective, gentle and non-invasive and can be used by any age group - from babies to the elderly.
Kinesiology provides a significant step forward in modern, integrated health care!
How does Kinesiology work?
To keep you healthy your body has many in-built healing mechanisms.
However, sometimes you are submitted to so many different forms of “stress” (learning new things, computer work, food additives, chemicals, viruses, injuries, diseases, emotional stress etc) that these special healing mechanisms get overloaded and break down.
This gets you “stuck” in your fight / flight response.
Being stuck in fight or flight results in physical and emotional exhaustion, leading to imbalances such as illness, aches/pains, food / chemical sensitivities, learning difficulties, anxiety, lack of memory and concentration and digestive/hormonal problems etc.
Your nervous system, which controls muscle function, is affected by this. Although Kinesiology does not diagnose or prescribe, its application of gentle muscle monitoring provides an effective guide to observe whether a situation, activity, memory or food is causing stress or an imbalance in your body, and what other underlying factors may be contributing to the problem.
Once the imbalances are found, various techniques are then used to restore body & brain function, thereby help to activate your body's own self regulating healing and recuperation mechanism.
Removing imbalances and activating the healing mechanism of your body will help you get out of overwhelm and this “stuck” state, hence reduce pain, aid clearer thinking and therefore allowing you operate better, faster and with less need to compensate.
Kinesiology on its own, or combined with Bowen, CranioSacral Therapy, NLP or any other modality has proven to be an excellent tool to improve emotional and physical health.
What is Bowen Therapy?
Bowen Therapy is a series of gently cross-fibre massage moves, placed strategically around the body. It is different to other forms of massage as it does not require oil and can be done over light clothing. Several short rest periods may be included.
How does Bowen Therapy work?
Bowen moves are designed to help your specific problem by working with the fascia of the body.
Injury, trauma, dehydration and many other forms of stress will impair the functioning of the fascia (a continuous membrane throughout your body, covering every muscle fibre, organ and cavity). Different layers of fascia can stick together or get “glued”, which can create friction, toxin build-up and eventually pain and discomfort.
Bowen Therapy is designed to free up “glued” fascia, thereby improving the distribution of water and initiating your body's own healing resources. Hence you can operate better, faster and have less need to compensate.
Bowen Therapy can be used by any age group – from babies to the elderly. When combined with Kinesiology and Craniosacral Therapy it becomes even more powerful to help frozen shoulders, back/neck//knee/hip problems, release sore and tight muscles, detoxify without having to take supplements and improve digestion.
What is CST?
CST or CranioSacral Therapy is a light-touch therapy to help release restrictions in the craniosacral system which surrounds your brain and spinal cord.
How does CST work?
Very gentle and soothing techniques are used improve the capability of your central nervous system, dissipate the negative effects of stress, strengthen resistance to disease and enhance your overall health.
Combined with Kinesiology and Bowen Therapy, CST provides a powerful yet gentle way to work with restrictions, tightness and adhesions deep inside your body and will leave you feeling relaxed, refreshed and energetic.
What is NLP?
NLP - Neuro Linguistic Programming
NLP is a therapy that explores ways to help you have a better, fuller and richer life!
How does NLP work?
It’s approach emphasises and explores the connecting of how we think (neuro), how we communicate (linguistic) and our patterns of behaviour and emotion (programes).
NLP will help you to break ineffective communication patterns, set and achieve long and short-term goals and will equip you with a whole raft of new ways of thinking, acting and communicating more effectively.
NLP, together with Kinesiology, Bowen and CST provides a wonderful way to improve your emotional and physiological health and allows you to explore how you can live life to the fullest!
